Financial planning is the heart of what we do. As holistic financial planners, we consider all areas of your financial life. Whether it’s managing investments, retirement, insurance, saving for college, paying off loans, estate planning, etc., our holistic philosophy understands that all these facets are linked.

While a skilled financial planner is going to consider many facets of your financial picture, it’s unlikely they have the experts in-house who can design a coordinated plan. Our professionals work hand-in-hand with our other divisions that focus on tax planning and preparation, insurance solutions and small business services to show how all of these pieces can affect one another and then come together to build the strongest plan for you. Plus, it’s just easier for you and a real time-saver when you work with a single company for all of these critical financial decisions. With the deeper level of understanding we have, you get the benefit of our ability to be proactive, instead of reactive.

Our Process

Our Financial Planning services start with our DIP process: Discovery, Information Gathering, Proposal.

Discovery

The first meeting is a brief, exploration between you and our Team. You do not need to bring anything to this meeting, except a notepad if you want to take notes. The goal is to get to know one another, discuss your goals, see if we’re a good match, and potentially move to the next phase.

Info-Gathering

During this phase, you are asked to gather items needed for a proposal. Examples include bank account statements, investment account statements, life insurance documents, etc. This information can be transmitted using our secure document vault.

Proposal

We use the gathered information to generate a proposal on how to work together to meet your goals. A very preliminary financial plan is developed and presented to you based on the goals that you have outlined. You are offered the opportunity to think about the presentation before committing to anything.

“How to Get There” Binder

Once on board, we work together to find the appropriate investment management method that makes the most sense for you, and then we continue our “How to Get There Binder Process” toward a comprehensive and detailed plan. This plan includes:

  • Risk Analysis
  • Investment Management Method Choice
  • Asset Allocation Recommendations
  • Retirement Projections
  • Sometime-Lifetime Funds
  • Estate Planning
  • Insurance Review — life, property, casualty, health (if desired)
  • Beneficiary Audit
  • Tax Planning
  • Education Planning

Not everyone will need all of these plan elements, but that is what helps our firm stand apart — we customize your plan for your needs.

Financial Planning for Generations

We’re looking ahead at the big picture for what you will leave behind for your spouse, children and grandchildren. The fancy name for this is estate planning. We can do that through financial planning and investment management, of course, but also with our insurance services, tax planning and guidance for small business owners. You can trust that your family will have our support after you’ve gone.
